My license has expired and I want to renew it (or get another one)

Did you suddenly realize one day that you were a landlord operating with an expired license? If you did and you need to renew it, we are here to help. But first, you should know the difference between being able to renew your old license and needing to get a new license. Here are your two options, and each one is dependant on how old the expired license is:

  • My license expired less than 6 months ago

If your license expired less than six months ago, then you can still renew it. But keep in mind – you will have late penalties to pay.

  • If the license expired 30 days ago or less, you will need to pay the renewal fee plus a $250 late fee.
  • If the license expired 31 days ago or more, you will need to pay a $500 late fee.

As of now, because your license is expired, you cannot renew it through RentJiffy’s My Account portal. No worries – we are ready, willing, and able to assist you any way we can. Reach out to us through our Contact Us page so we can get you squared away.

  • My license expired more than 6 months ago. Now what?

If your license expired more than six months ago, you can no longer renew it. Instead, you must apply for a new license and submit to an inspection. Unfortunately, you will also be on the hook for the late fees attached to the old license. Late fees will be $500 or more depending on exactly how long the license has been expired. Our estimated guess – if it’s been expired for less than 2 years, the fees will usually be about $500-550.
