How to Add a Delegate to Your RentJiffy Account

This article applies only to accounts within the rj3.rentjiffy.com system and not our soon to be legacy system at www.rentjiffy.com/licensing.

RentJiffy allows you to add delegates to your account so trusted third parties can help manage your services or your entire account. This is particularly useful when you’re working with property managers, assistants, or other representatives who need access to filings, documents, and updates.

There are two types of delegates you can add: 


1. Product/Service-Specific Delegate

A product/service-specific delegate has access to a specific product or service that you select. This is helpful when you want a third party (such as a property manager or assistant) to handle certain tasks related only to that order.

When adding a product/service-specific delegate, you choose exactly what they can do and see. You can grant any combination of the following permissions:

  • View filings/documents: Allows the delegate to see all documents associated with the service.

  • View order status: Lets them track the progress of the order.

  • Receive copies of all transactional emails: Ensures they get updates sent by RentJiffy for this service.

  • Communicate on your behalf: Allows them to speak with RentJiffy via phone or email for this specific order.

  • Make changes to orders on your behalf: Grants permission to request changes or updates to the order.

  • Process this application: Allows them to complete and submit the application tied to this service.

What they cannot do:

  • Access any other products or services on your account.

  • Make changes or purchases unrelated to the assigned order.

  • Add new services or products on your behalf.


2. Account-Wide Delegate

An account-wide delegate has nearly full access to your entire RentJiffy account. This type of delegate is best suited for someone you fully trust to manage all aspects of your account activity.

What they can do:

  • Purchase new products and services on your behalf.
  • Add themselves as a product/service-specific delegate for any new purchases without needing your approval

Important: This level of access gives the delegate significant control over your account, including the ability to place orders that incur costs. Only assign account-wide access to someone you fully trust.

Coming Soon: In the near future you’ll be able to add the same permission as the Product/Service-Specific Delegates but be able to apply those preferences to all files in the past and future.


How to Add a Delegate

  1. Log in to your account at rj3.rentjiffy.com.

  2. From the navigation bar on the left, click Delegates.

  3. Decide which type of delegate you wish to add:

    • Account-Wide Delegate: Click the gray “Manage Account-Wide Delegates” button on the right side of the screen, enter their email address, and complete the pop-up form.

    • Product/Service-Specific Delegate: Click on the property address from the list, then select Add Delegate. Enter their email address, complete the pop-up form with the delegate’s information, and select the permissions you want to grant.

  4. Click Save to finish adding the delegate.

The delegate will receive an email invitation to access your account or the specific service as authorized.


Best Practices for Adding Delegates

  • Verify the email address: Make sure the delegate’s email is accurate before adding them.

  • Set clear expectations: Communicate what you want them to handle on your behalf.

  • Review access regularly: Update or remove delegates who no longer need access.


Adding delegates is a secure and convenient way to let trusted third parties help manage your filings and services while keeping you in full control of your RentJiffy account.
