Canceling your DC license is straightforward and can be done in a matter of a few minutes.
- Go to the DC BOSS system. Navigate to boss.dc.gov (Business Online Services System).
- Log in with your Access DC account. If you don't have one, you'll need to create one first.
- Go to your Licenses. From the BOSS home page, scroll down to the Quick Access section and click Licenses.
- If your license isn't listed, click Add an Existing License and enter your license number to link it to your account.
- Locate your license and open the actions menu. Once your license appears, click the three dots under Actions to the right of it.
- Select Amend. From the pop-up menu, click Amend.
- Request cancellation. On the next screen, click Request Cancellation, then Next, and follow the remaining on-screen prompts.
Important note: Submitting this request cancels the license immediately — there's no delay or grace period, so make sure this is intended before completing the final step.
